On the 9th November a delegation of the Malta ESG Alliance met the Minister for the Economy, EU Funds and Lands, the Hon Silvio Schembri. During the meeting the delegates explained the responsibility that business leaders have in understanding and acting upon an inevitable transition towards a values-driven economy and underpinned by environmental, social and governance principles. This transition is motivated by changing landscapes in customer demands, shareholder and investor values, talent expectations, financing risk profiles and foreign direct investment priorities. To this end, MESGA promised the Minister support to encourage an accelerated collaborative transition to ensure that Malta remains an attractive and competitive jurisdiction for a truly sustainable Maltese economy.
